On July 20, 2014, Assumption Council 3397’s outgoing chancellor, Matthew Bratsch, will be giving a concert at the Church of Saint Bridget in Glassboro, N.J. A well-regarded tenor, he will be performing a selection of religious, classical and theatrical music, accompanied by keyboardist Cathy Sonnenberg.

Matthew has been a fixture in the Parish’s choir for several years. In addition to his singing and work with the Knights of Columbus, Matthew is the outgoing president of Rowan University’s Catholic Campus Ministry program

This will be Matthew’s final performance at the Parish. He will soon be leaving us to participate in AmeriCorps’ City Year Program. Matthew will be stationed in New Hampshire for the next year working with at-risk youth.

Since City Year’s founding in 1988, more than 18,000 corps members have served in excess of 26 million hours. AmeriCorps places young adults into intensive service positions where they learn valuable work skills, earn money for education, and develop an appreciation for citizenship.

To help facilitate his City Year service, Matthew has established a fundraising campaign. In addition, free will donations will be accepted at the concert.
